One of the biggest worries we tend to have about travelling is safety. If you can be sure that the place you are travelling to is relatively safe and you know how to protect yourself, this will take away a lot of the stress of travelling for you.
It’s always a good idea to check government advice before you travel anywhere. Even if you are just going to somewhere close by, for example, a city in Europe, check what the government travel advice is. You may find out something that you didn’t previously know about your destination. It’s also important for insurance purposes – if you travel to somewhere that is not advised by the government as being safe, your policy might well not cover you.
Generally, the best travel advice is simply to be aware of your surroundings at all times. Never be complacent as this is when things will go wrong.
